Two of Italy's most beautiful medieval villages, nestled in the Tuscan hills: Volterra, the city of alabaster with its Etruscan origins, and San Gimignano with its iconic towers.
Volterra is a little-known gem that will surprise you: Etruscan walls, a Roman theater, the Piazza dei Priori (one of the finest medieval squares in Italy) and artisan workshops where alabaster is still crafted as it was centuries ago.
After Volterra, a short scenic transfer to San Gimignano through the Val d'Elsa. Here you can stroll among the towers, taste Dondoli's award-winning gelato and admire the panorama from the Rocca di Montestaffoli.
The day ends with a tasting of Vernaccia di San Gimignano at a winery with views over the hills. An experience that engages all the senses.
